A BESPOKE Experience to Transgender Voice Training

An Elite Methodology for People Seeking the Best

A passing voice isn’t a formula — it’s an artistic, creative expression. VAMethod moves beyond the rigid, one-size-fits-all instruction that has long defined gender-affirming voice training. Instead, we craft customized musical patterns that activate your voice’s natural response, so your training works with your instrument rather than against it. The result is practical, lasting change — not memorized techniques that fall apart the moment you leave the practice room. The depth of the method is why we are proudly the only brand that has the confidence to promise you a passing voice. Whether you’re seeking voice feminization or masculinization, you’ll never find yourself performing a target. You’ll experience your voice being guided toward your ideal.

VAMethod is the only premium voice training experience designed exclusively for AMAB and AFAB individuals, delivering the industry’s highest standard of service to the most discerning clientele.

That standard starts with our coaches. Through the Residency Program, VAMethod trains the next generation of elite vocal talent: each coach is a voice artisan who completes a full year of rigorous training and at least 200 hours of client-facing sessions before earning the privilege to train you. Because you deserve nothing less.

Yet for all its elite standing, VAMethod stays grounded. We’re proud to build an ecosystem where accessible voice training is possible for those who once couldn’t afford it — the Residency Program offers more than 30 spots each year at significantly reduced cost. The industry’s lowest for those who in need.

VAMethod never set out to follow the standard. We set out to become the benchmark others are measured against.

Jimmy Chen

Founder & Lead Voice Coach

Jimmy Chen is the founder of the Vocal Activation Method (VAM), a structured approach to voice development designed to help clients build greater control, consistency, and authentic vocal expression. VAMethod is built on the functional voice principles of Cornelius Reid, one of the most influential vocal theorists of the twentieth century.

Berklee-trained, Jimmy adapted this lineage for trans voice development, drawing on a decade of experience working with elite performers and executives. His approach combines technical voice training with a deeper understanding of breath, function, perception, and expression, informed by hundreds of studies on gender expression.
