A DIFFERENT APPRAOCH TO VOICE TRAINING

Creating the musical conditions for the voice to respond

VAMethod is built on the principles of functional voice training developed by Cornelius Reid, the most influential vocal theorist of the twentieth century. Its core principle: the vocal organ is largely involuntary, responding instinctively when the brain forms a mental image of a sound. So instead of isolated anatomical cues like “raise your larynx” or “reduce vocal mass,” VAMethod works through the relationship between musical elements — pitch, vowel, and intensity — and vocal behavior. By giving the voice musical instructions rather than anatomical ones, it activates a logical sequence of development for voice feminization and masculinization.

FAQS

Have questions?

What is bespoke?

It means the program is built around your voice, not forcing your voice around a curriculum. There are no pre-recorded modules and no standard lesson plan. You work directly with the founder of the method, not a junior teacher. Your program begins with a full evaluation of your voice — where it is, what's holding it back, and what's already working. From that, we design your specific training path: the exercises, the sequence, and the milestones that solve your unique problems. No two voices sound the same and no two voices train the same.

How does the method work?

VAMethod is built on the elite lineage of Functional Voice Training developed by one of the greatest vocal teachers Cornelius Reid who Jimmy (Founder of VAMethod) has the privilege to study under. The method was originally built to develop regular voices into operatic virtuosos that can sustain high demand performances. For the first time, this high level training is available for the trans community. The method creates the conditions for the voice to appear and activates the desired vocal response. When the method is effective, progress appears immediately. That is the VAMethod standard.

Why does this work when nothing else worked?

Most voice training hands you tips and exercises. That is not training, that is a prescription. Effective voice training adjusts the vocal response in real time and follows a logical sequence of functional development that takes the voice from point A to point B. Thus, progress happens in session. You will experience breakthroughs every session and hear your voice do things it can’t do in the last session.

Will this work for my voice?

Because VAMethod is built on logic, not tricks, it takes the evaluation seriously. It understands where your voice is at and identifies the problem that is holding your voice back. Only when the right problem is discovered can the training be effective. Then your voice will be developed according to a logical sequence according to the framework and move from point A to point B.

I am really busy, will I have time for this?

The program is built for executives who have busy schedules. Each session is so effective in coordinating the vocal function that results seep beyond the sessions. This is why there is no practicing in your own time. Progress happens in session, not through your own practice. You just have to show up.

Why can’t I just voice train myself?

Your voice demands things beyond a regular voice. You need to be able to speak for hours, maybe at a high volume. Maybe your voice directly impacts your career. These are high level skills that require expert development.

How long will this program take?

This depends on each voice. Hence the first session will be a proper evaluation of your voice and understanding whether the method is the right fit for you. The effectiveness of the method will appear immediately because you will hear the immediate progress of your voice. While voice training can take shorter, it is recommended to prepare for committing to one year to developing your voice to reach your final goals.

How does the guarantee work?

Exclusive to the bespoke program, you will receive a timeline and frequency of training. After completion of the program as prescribed with 90% attendance rate, if you don’t achieve the three goals, your application for refund will automatically be approved. The method is effective and if you are committed, results are guaranteed, that is my offer for your trust and commitment in the process.

Does this work on mature voices?

Absolutely. VAMethod is the only voice training method that taps into the granular nature of the vocal function. It microadjusts the vocal behavior so if you allow yourself time and persistence, the voice will be coordinated. Moreover, gender expression is a style just like singing. There are many genres of singing: jazz, pop and rock at any age. That means you can achieve the expression at any age. The central challenge is the time it takes to overcome speaking habits. Hence, I will evaluate your voice and give you an honest assessment on how long this process will take.
